Hello. Before you ask, I have checked several car rental places. Last year, we once again rented from Michael at Unity,. We have a caravan with seating for 8, it had been thru Irma, but ran fine, lol. It was just a wee bit snug to fit 8 adults. When on the island, I noticed several vans that looked a way more spacious, possibly even seating j10? Wondering if any of you know which rental places would possibly have these avail. The other option is to rent to smaller cars, but then we have parking to consider, etc. And,,,another driver....I usually do the driving as our group enjoys their cocktails, so I abstain till our tours are over.
just throwing it out there for any and all feedback.

Thanks

To my knowledge, the larger vans are owned by taxi drivers, not rented out.

I would say rent four cars and find parking... I never have guests that depend on us for transportation. It makes the vacation so much more enjoyable when everyone has their space. There nothing worse if someone wants to stay at a casino and others want to go home.. I can not image all eight adults agreeing on everything!

HI, sorry no specifics
but - in the past you could rent Hyundai H1 vans - 9 and 12 passenger
I note a TTOL sponser - Travel Car rental - no personal experience - shows a H1 for rent
So guessing others must also?

Me - I would rent two cars and maybe cab for the odd dinner out if you wanted to be able to have a drink
But you will know what works best for you

Hope it works out - note pretty sure I have been to Harriston and maybe the bakery in the town

Hertz has the size vehicles you are looking for. We also have 8 in our group but decided to go with two separate vehicles but they were able to provide quotes for a 12 passenger van. Large vans can be more difficult to park in some locations and more difficult to drive on some roads but are convenient to carry a large group.

lol...we pretty much all have the same interests...worked well last time, as we show newbies around the island, its an adventure. Parking for our villa would be a huge problem with 4 cars. Someone said taxis are avail,,have never used one, especially for a group this large...I will investigate that a bit to see what the costs would be. Sol Y Mar is so centrally located to just about everything we like to do, so maybe we can figure out what days we want to travel to various places and only rent something for a day or two. Undecided as of yet...but will see....p.s. I usually am uncomfortable with others driving,,,I like to do it myself, so I get to where I am going safely! Lol (just a hang up I have for people who drive way to fast, and not safely) I once had to tell a rental company driver when taking us back to airport to slow down or I would be sick in his car!! It worked.
