From Yvonne mendenhall SOME MORE GOOD AND FUN NEWS ABOUT NEW PLANS FOR THE NEW FLAMINGO! From Mervin LeBlanc, August 30, 2019. We not only will have an ALL NEW resort, newer, stronger, better construction and equipment and furnishings, but we will have all new rooms AND public/shared spaces.⛱ Flamingo will have its own fitness center! It will be located in the space near the "round house" and will include basic fitness equipment in its own facility!⛱ Flamingo is adding two outdoor hot tubs! Mervin indicated those are planned to be located near the pool area.⛱ Flamingo will have an onsite cafe with beach-side service and some table seating! This cafe will be located where the former Gift Shop and towel station was located at the northwest corner of building 7 and entrance to the beach--not on the beach. Servers will take orders and deliver food and beverages to guests at the beach. The menu will be casual and appropriate for beach service. ⛱ The beach-scape at Flamingo is planned to include more permanent palapas than they had in the past. The palapas will be smaller than the former palapas. There will also be some portable umbrellas available.⛱ 2020 will be a great year for Flamingo and Royal Palm. It's been hard to wait, but we will see new and exciting things happening! REMINDER: Keep your Diamond Resorts International account current! Make sure you have a working email and a user id and password with Diamond Resorts so you can access information from Diamond, Flamingo and Royal Palm web pages...and they can reach you with news and updates! Mervin again stressed that until hurricane season is over Diamond will not announce a date for reopening the resort for guests. With Dorian's current fury in the Bahamas, I think most of us can understand that caution. But, he also said that if there are no issues the reconstruction progress for both Flamingo and Royal Palm is EXCELLENT!
