KLM did not fly out yesterday. It was supposed to depart at 4:25pm. Anyone know the reason?

Not really much definitive information.

"stranded till further notice" doesn't sound good.

Yeah, that doesn't really make sense. I'm not sure I would give a great deal of credence to that part of the story.

Article stated they have to wait for experts to be flown in from the Netherlands. That could take some time for them to get there and also time to figure out a remedy for the problem and parts if needed.

Well, yes, that particular plane might be on the ground for a couple of days, but they have other planes. Just sayin'..

Correct. Whether they have one available to bring into service for that route is another thing.

KLM due tomorrow. I wondered if they would fly someone in on air France today to assess & maybe send parts tomorrow on KLM.

They’re not going to fly an empty plane there to pick these people up. And then when this plane is fixed fly it back to the Netherlands empty. It’ll be cheaper to refund them all and put them in hotels. Similar thing happened with JetBlue a couple of months ago.

Or if KLM has space on AUA to AMS flights maybe they can accommodate the SXM passengers that way.
By flying the passengers to Aruba to meet the flight using other airlines.

I guarantee they are being put up at the Towers. Despite it not being "open" for it's TS owners.

I wonder if Ansary has business interruption insurance, which apparently Diamond does, so he doesn't care how long it takes to reopen? Don't know where these folks are staying, but it has to be a fair number of people. I know that Delta put some people up at Simpson Bay Resort recently..

Mr. Ansary has his own insurance company called Ennia.

And that insurance company called Ennia my good friend Lesley, is a large part of why the Towers unit owners have the mess on our hands that we currently have.

Are you sure, or is that what you are being told? We have Ennia and got our insurance payout quite quickly. I know we're not a big place, but I'm smelling BS from the management.

Ennia is somehow owned by Ansary - but he didn’t have “insurance” on the Towers! So “supposedly” his money is locked by the central bank? All very cryptic and messed up!!!!

Lots of BS, for sure, Elaine, and too much to try to explain and that’s assuming we’ve been told the truth which isn’t a given either.

We could have been long repaired and up and running IF things had been done in a professional manner in the first place, and there-in lies the problem.

Yes. The TS owners still have no idea when we can reoccupy our units yet we are being held responsible for the maintenance fees for each week and year. Many have walked away from their units because of the lack of faith in the way things are being done.

Don’t get me wrong. We were very early preconstruction owners and loved each and every one of the many weeks we spent there over thirty plus years we stayed there but we need more details and accountability from the management and we’re just not getting it.

I don't see any KLM plane on the ground right now, so they must have gotten it fixed.
