How is the beach directly in front of Royal Islander LaPlage? We have been there when there was only a fairly narrow strip of sand past the breakwall and are hoping that currently there's a bit more than that . We will be arriving in just 2 weeks.

You might be able to tell from this webcam by expanding it to show that beach area. http://sunsetsxm.com/plane-info/

Maho comes and goes and it's usually really windy there. Once you're finished with the thrill of planes landing over your head, I would suggest taking a nice walk along Rhine Road and hanging a left towards the golf course. This will lead to Mullet Bay Beach which is one of the best beaches on the Dutch side. The walk takes about 20 minutes, but it's worth it.

Well, based on the Sunset Beach Bar webcam, it looks like there's more than enough sand in front of LaPlage, since it doesn't have to accomodate as many people as the rest of Maho Beach between LaPlage and Sunset Beach Bar.
