My family will be on a 7 day charter out of St Thomas the week of NYE with two 12 yr olds and a 10 yr old. Where is the best place to spend NYE? I’m thinking White Bay or Cane Garden Bay would be fun but not the right vibe with kids. I’ve heard a trellis Bay is family friendly and assume Leverick Bay also has something going on, unless somewhere in the USVI is a better bet? Is there anywhere that does fireworks? Thanks!

I would think White Bay would have the spill over from Foxy's Old Year's Eve plus might be subject the Christmas winds making it rolly. You might want to think about that one. We had a NYE in the Bight one year that was pretty good but we hadn't made fireworks a priority. The Bight was no where near full, did Willy T's early then dinner on the boat. We brought filet and shrimp for surf and turf and had a great time with friends.

Cane garden Bay is also exposed to North swell if its running.
So I would not plan on that either.

Have you also posted on the USVI forum? There is a pretty active STJ forum on Trip Advisor that might be helpful. I don't think you'll have much luck with fireworks on STJ though since it's mostly National Park. No fireworks are allowed on park lands. If they have fireworks on STT, you might see them from Christmas Cove on St James, aka the home of Pizza Pi, but check on those local forums for confirmation.
Back to the BVI, I've heard others mention using Scrub as a base for Trellis. You could get a slip at Scrub and then ferry over to Trellis, but then head back if the vibe isn't quite kid friendly. That would also solve the potential issue of winds and swells. The kids might enjoy the Scrub pool and resort for the day/afternoon too.
I'm pretty sure you can't lose no matter where you end up in the VI's. Good luck!
