Is anyone else upset with Jet Blue's decision to not offer the 8am direct flight from JFK? We've always taken that flight since it was one of the first to get to SXM. Now the only direct flight doesn't leave until 11 am and arrives around 4:30. I know- all of you who don't have the option of having a direct flight are probably saying "stop your whining"- but I needed to vent.

Right now they’re doing a direct flight twice a day on Saturday, but in high season they’re only going to do one? That makes no sense. Hopefully something will change. We got in on that flight this weekend and we zipped through immigration and baggage claim.

Thought JB prices were higher than ever before.
And I don't mind you wanting to vent. If my 7am direct from Boston went away I'd be upset too.

Don't know whether I should try to wait to see if they add the earlier flight. The associate I talked to at Jet Blue said it was highly unlikely they would add a flight- but it doesn't make sense that during low season they have 2 flights but only 1 in high season.

Trust me, Sue....... you know as much as the associate does. They are often the last ones to know what’s going on.
I know there are those who love JB but they have never been my favorites, and yes, their prices have been going up over the last year or so.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them add the flight back down the road. If you didn’t already buy it, I’d hold off and keep checking the flight status for a while. If the flight starts to fill up or the prices start to really escalate you can always jump in later and that would also give you time to see what AA and Delta have to offer for the season.
Respectfully,
pat

1487 is the second Saturday flight and it drops from the schedule after August. 787 also changes from 8:44 to 9:55 to 10:54 from September to January to February. So who knows. That 10:54 time could change between now and then.

Feb. is a long way off. A lot can change between now and then but you still have it better than the vast majority of the country.

I have seen JB add a second flight later in the day but not seen them add any earlier flights that were not already posted.
MamaB the bright side is the plane you land on is usually the one that takes you back so even though you arrive later in the day to SXM you can stay later for that last bit of sun, that last drink, or last good SXM meal.
