Lover’s Beach has been on my radar for a couple of years now. It’s a tiny little beach for two and there’s more rocks on the sand than the pictures I’ve seen in the past...probably due to Irma??? There’s not many reliable directions to find it but I pressed on and with the help of an Internet blogger, we were able to discover it yesterday. Like a good lover, it’s difficult to find. In fact, we walked past it but my spidey senses said to turn around. We walked back a few metres and there were a couple of small paths leading to the water’s edge. We looked over the edge and there it was...a tiny little beach with AMAZING views! I had heard that’s it’s not really a problem to descend down to the sand but that is NOT the case...very, very steep! I asked my lover of almost 30 years if she wanted to attempt the journey down and her decisive reply of “HELL NO” rang loud and clear. I decided to try it myself but I only had flip flops so I took them off and attempted the death defying trip down the dirt path. Halfway down it became very apparent that it wasn’t worth the risk. I was able to snap some pictures and then carefully made my way back to the top. I took some drone footage which can be seen HERE

As I said, the views are amazing of this little gem and surrounding area. I talked to our Villa owner who is a lifelong resident and he quizzically looked at me and then laughed. It used to be the DUMP and locals would hurl sheep carcasses over the edge and sharks would come in and eat them. This was before motorized traffic in the channel.

The internet gets very irate when directions are given out, so I’ll refrain from posting them publicly. Just know that it exists and it’s SPECTACULAR!

The photos are from above, behind and halfway down to the beach. Lover’s Beach is #9 on the map.

Wow, even if I could find it and make it there....probably get eaten or mauled by a shark though and who would save me?

Such cool pics.....can’t even walk in a straight line these days on a flat service.....and .with my wife’s comment about throwing her off a cliff in a wheelchair, what a way to go, on a deserted beach in SXM, Lovers Beach indeed.

Paul--You're a lot more ambitious than I am, for sure! Glad you found it and that your wife was smart enough to decline your invitation to do death-defying feats! smile

It's absolutely beautiful but not for the fainthearted, I fear.

Respectfully,
