Cape Air appears to have dropped its early morning flight (9:00) from VG to SJU. We were put on the next flight out (12:11) which meant not making our direct flight back to Philly.

We spent 2 and half hours with AA yesterday trying to work things out. We wanted to substitute a 10:30am flight out of Beef Island which would make everything work out. It was worth the cost of Speedy’s ferry fare. Not so easily accomplished. We talked to a couple of AA agents and were finally transferred to a really great supervisor who talked directly with Cape Air. Cape Air seemed to be the hang-up in this whole matter. They wanted to charge an additional $1000 for making the change because we were using a different airport. The AA supervisor seemed to have the pull to get them to change their mind. Patience and persistence prevailed for us in the end.

Anyhow, we were successful in making our change but wanted to provide fair warning to anyone on the early Cape Air flight out of VG in the coming months.

Happened to me a couple of years ago - canceled the 8:30 flight on me but paid for me to go to Beef to catch a 10:30 - in the summer time you really have to watch Cape Air

Cape Air just signed a deal with Eviation for a fleet of 9 passenger tri motor ELECTRIC airplanes to replace their 402s so the future schedules may depend on the reliability of BVIEC. wink
