Hi all wanted to give you an overview of our outstanding vacation. Our 25 year old son came with us and my 25 years old daughter and boyfriend from Buffalo met us there.
AA flight cancelled through PHL day before departure, they reschedule us on a flight through Charlotte..no problems.
Lesley waiting with car and off we go. Thank you Lesley for so many wonderful years of Excellent service.
We own at the Towers but since they are unavailable we booked at the Simpson Bay Villas room 401 A and B. I was very impressed with the rooms, the pool, the service and all there is to do in the area. We had the buffet breakfast included in our stay. Check in very easy, dropped of luggage and off to Sunset Beach Bar for dinner. Stopped by the grocery store (corner before you turn to simpson bay villas) on the way back and off to bed early.
Here are the restaurants we went to during our stay:
La Patrona for breakfast-excellent buffet
Zee Best for Breakfast- Excellent
Jax for Dinner-Excellent
La Rosa for Dinner- Excellent
Izzi for Dinner-Excellent
Snoopy for dinner- Very good, steele drums playing
Melange for Dinner- Very good
Buccaneers beach bar for dinner- very good, enjoyed the fire ball
Moma for lunch in port cupecoy- this was ok not a fan
Kontiki for lunch- Excellent! Beach still a little messy with seaweed
Karater for lunch- Excellent and my favorite beach so far
Taloula mango for lunch-Very good
Replay sports bar for lunch- very good (Thank you Ziggy nice to see you again)
The Carousel-Carousel not working, ice cream very good!
Stopped by Mullet one day, a beautiful beach still.
Shopping in Philisburg twice—looks great, saw police with dogs one day, not sure why? (zhaveri thank you Naz)Shopping in Marigot-this was ok, still so much fixing to do. Maho is growing, looks good (G&N jewelers thank you Ravi)
Casino-The Princess Casino was awesome! Casino Royal looks great! Hollywood still the same.
Daughter and boyfriend had a very long delay in Charlotte going back home.
We had a very long delay in PHL going back.
Since we have been back all we see is rain here in CT….so sad! counting days till we go back next year!

Sounds like another good one, Lynn. The changes of scenery hurt in one respect, but they also give you a whole different perspective of the island we all love, don't you think? Glad you had such a good time with your family, too. To me, that always adds a little something extra to the trip.

Thank you for sharing.....

Respectfully,

pat

That's an impressive list of dining establishments you hit (though Mark's Place was missing). This is why when someone asks me about 'all-in-one' resorts on St, Maarten I tell them "there are none, and you wouldn't want one there anyway." Not knocking all-in-ones (just stayed at one last month in Cancun), but nothing really compares to the assortment of great dining places on SXM. Makes me wonder who has the 'tourist record' for the most restaurants visited on the island. I tried counting my total over the years but it's a challenge because some places have come and gone (like Pedro's). And, if you had to choose just one restaurant which one would it be?

Never tried that place, but I'll for sure mark it down for the future. I suppose Bistrot Caraibes would be my first choice if I could choose just one place!

I missed that about Ziggy in your original report. Surprised that Ziggy left Pineapple Pete. Is he the manager at the Sports Bar, or just a waiter? Great waiter!
