We're headed back to the Virgin Islands this December and can't wait! This forum has been so helpful with our previous land-based visits to the VIs. Thank you! This trip will be via cruise ship. We chose the itinerary because it stops in St Thomas and Tortola and want to give the islanders some support! I know cruise ship travellers aren't very popular on this forum but I promise not all of us are unappreciative chair hoarders!
On to my question... We want to head to Jost when we are in Tortola. We dock in Road Town from 8am-6pm. The plan would be to head to the West End and take the 10am ferry to JVD. That would put us on Jost around 10:30am. We could take the 2pm ferry back to Tortola, but that would only give us just over 3 hours on Jost. We would prefer to book a water taxi back to either the West End or Cane Garden Bay. If we left around 3:30pm or 4pm, we should have plenty of time to taxi back to Road Town in time for departure.
Does anyone know which water taxi services are open now that could accommodate a one-way JVD to Tortola for 2 adults this December? We were in touch with David at Foxy's Charters but they have a full day charter that day and couldn't leave Jost until 4:30pm unfortunately. That would be cutting it too close for us.
Thanks as always for your assistance! I will report back here when we return! Worst case scenario we will only have a few hours on JVD but it will be better than not being there at all! (FYI, We're going to head to St John via the ferry system when in St Thomas.)
