Really? You've been to 35 beaches on St. Martin? Impressive. Let's see ... for me I believe it stands at just 12 (which I thought was pretty good!). Orient (many, many times), Le Galion, Great Bay, Maho, Mullet, Friar's Bay, Happy Bay, Grand Case, Anse Marcel, Simpson Bay, Yellow, and Little Bay. I think that's all of them. Each visit I try to add a new beach, so I have a lot more trips coming to SXM before I cover all of them.

I think there are actually 37 beaches on the island.....one for every square mile.I still have not been to 3 of them. Many years ago I had a list of them all but can't recall them all now. Some are very private and not easy to get to.

That is one of the best things about "our" island. You rent a car, drive and stop, go for a dip and keep going until you hit the next beach! IMHO they are all so beautiful!!
Sand Gravity, got to love it!

Rbailey--sorry, that doesn't look attractive at all to me. Lots of trash! What beach is that?

SammyM, you can add one more beach and make it a lucky 13. One of our favorite, Copecoy.

Absolutely! That will happen at our next visit next fall. Just never seem to get out to the western end of SXM that much. We're usually in Philipsburg or up at Orient Bay.

Rbailey--sorry, that doesn't look attractive at all to me. Lots of trash! What beach is that? Anse de Peres, 1977. Don't remember how or why we got there, but were rather shocked - the trash actually looked worse in person than on the photo. Not the same as Friar's, which sems to go by the same name sometimes.

R Bailey, Wow! I don't think we found Anse de Peres aka Friars Bay Beach until the mid 80's but we have never seen anything even remotely like this. Are you saying there is another beach that goes by the name of Anse de Peres beyond the one that is home to Friars Bay Beach Cafe and Kali's? Will have to do some more exploring this November.
Respectfully,
pat

On Google Earth there is a beach labelled Anse des Peres South of Friars. All I remember is a sign on the way there with that name, which is how I labelled the slide. We were basically wandering and may even have been lost when we came across it.
