Hello,

We will be chartering with DYC out of their base in Fajardo, PR in June. Anyone know if it is now possible to pick up an Uber at SJU? Also, any suggestions on best place to provision in Fajardo? Thanks!

UBER can drop people off at SJU but if they pick up the Taxi drivers go into a fit and actually get physical.
A Taxi will be around $85 plus luggage to the Puerto del Rey marina.
Allied car rental has a rental base at the marina and it might be more convenient and economical to rent a car at the airport and do your shopping and drop it off at the marina.
In Fajardo they have a Ralphs and an Econo supermarket where you can provision.

I second sail445's recommendation about doing a one-way car rental. We have found it to be less expensive than a taxi and more flexible for provisioning - though the taxi drivers will stop and wait while you provision. I believe we rented through Avis in the past. They have a base in Cieba just a couple miles from the marina and they will give you a lift to the marina after you return the car. The drive from the airport is very easy.

We have provisioned at Ralphs before and had no complaints. It is on the right side of the highway in Fajardo on your way to the marina. However, on our last trip we went to Costco in San Juan which is barely off the route to the marina from SJU - maybe one mile at the most. It was great for stocking up on beverages as well as pretty much whatever else we needed.

I chartered out of Puerto del Rey over Xmas and the charter company suggested a taxi driver, he kept in contact with us, we had some delayed flights, we stopped for lunch in San Juan at an amazing Deli, stopped and provisioned at Ralphs and arrived at the Marina before dark. With 5 of us it was $100 plus a generous tip and he took great care of us, suggested the Deli, waited at the provisioning stop and made good time on the roads.
He had a good size, well kept van. A rental car would never had fit 5 of us, gear and all the provisions in one trip.
