Well guys, this was one of my BEST trips. Realize that I said trip, not vacation. I was just all over the place. I went to Los Angeles, San Francisco/ San Jose, Las Vegas, New York/New Jersey, Montreal and Jamaica. (Whew!)
Los Angeles was nice, went to a wedding, my mom was with me for a week so I shopped with her, having no guilty feelings since she approved of my purchases ha ha.
I ate at PF Changs, which was fantastic, Wolfgang Puck which had an awesome chocolate dessert, the food was excellent there too. Can you imagine my delight when I realized that the hotel I was at was right across 2 malls, not 1, but 2!! My dream come true.
I went crazy shopping at Be Be, Armani Exchange, Guess and some other nice store. I was sooooooo happy to see Victoria’s Secret and Starbucks! I miss the hot chocolate. This is something that I had about 2 or 3 times a day. Awesome!
The only problem I had there was waiting for cabs, at those times I missed my car so much, which by the way my brothers still didn’t fix while I was on vacation. No problem I will overlook that, just like I did with the workload they piled up for me.
My mom left, and we went to San Jose. My god! What a beautiful place, with amazing views and beautiful homes. I realized that a lot of people pay close attention to the landscaping of their homes, which we don’t do at all here. Promised to look into that when I got home. Will be starting mine as soon as I am done with work.
I went to Golden Gates, Sausalito (sp?) and we drove around in that area. I really, really miss California. The weather was wonderful, the place was pretty and I shopped a lot!
We left San Francisco and went to Sin City, Las Vegas. Trust me guys, it was hell….as hot! However, when I got to the hotels, everything was ok. I stayed at the Venetian, and let me tell you, it was worth every dollar that I spent for the room. I was treated like a princess. The staff was very nice and the hotel is marvelous. I was there for a convention, so I had a lot of walking to do. All my friends were sooooo jealous of my room. The room was huge. The bathroom was almost a room by itself. The minor details in this hotel is what made me appreciate it all the more. The food however, was disappointing. After a while I felt like I was getting sick. The water or something wasn’t going with my body.
My friends, I partied a lot. This is something that I don’t usually do at home, so I really had a great time. I went to Vbar, Rain@ the Palms and Caramel at the Bellagio.
I didn’t get to see the shows. I was really really tired of the convention at day and parties at night. The salon at the Venetian was the BEST! I do my hair a lot, wherever I go, and they were the best! I have never had a blow dry like that. Like I said the minor details is what I loved here. The last day I went to stay at the Mirage. Big mistake. It’s an ok hotel, after staying at the Venetian for 4 nights you get spoilt!
So it was just ok. Yes, I did gamble. Just $50 at the Black Jack table and you won’t believe that my first hand was a Black Jack! I won $35 and walked out.
I was going back to LA for 2 days, went to Sunset Plaza for dinner which was very good.
No more shopping for me till I got to New York.
So I left for NY and as soon as I got there, I said, wow….I love this city!
My plans changed since my friend wasn’t able to join me, so I was staying with another friend in Hoboken, NJ. I got in after midnight, so it was beautiful to drive from JFK to NJ. I love the city at night! The morning after was a bit depressing, it was raining. I had a real Bagel and cream cheese, let me tell you, these guys are pretty generous with their servings. I was enjoying every minute of the NY Bagel. I went for the party at Brady’s Bar. I wasn’t familiar with the place, so I kept looking around, when I saw a BBQ grill on the side, I knew it was here! That was really sweet. Can you imagine a grill in NYC with rain coming down. It was a sight to see. Thank You to the lovely hosts, we had a really fun time there. All of you were so sweet; they kept reassuring me that Grey Hound was ok. Thank You to Kathleen and Paul , who helped me also. Kevin and his wife. Dan and Jamie, and to all of you that made it to the party. Sorry if you lost out on the race, but we had a good time. So right after the party, I hoped onto a bus, going to Montreal, the ride was honestly a bit scary, but I made it! I loved Montreal, visited some family friends so it was good. I was there just for 2 days, and came back to NYC. Reached the city and went shopping again. It’s a great feeling walking around in the city. Its just so big and crowded. But I was getting tired, since I had only 1 day left. After NY I went to Montego Bay, Jamaica. Let me tell you, this was the “highlight” of my vacation. A lot of people have a misconception of Jamaica, but I had an amazing experience there. As soon as I landed, I felt this release of pressure, my phone didn’t work there either, which was good.
The people there are very helpful. There was a slight delay in the luggage, but hey, I had all the time in the world, I was on vacation right? I met my friend who now lives there. We relaxed a bit, went to lunch at the Brewery, which was really good. At night, we went to Margaritaville. These people sure know how to party!!! I was there till the wee hours of the morning. Next day we went off to Ocho Rios, this place keeps getting better and better. I climbed a river, Dunn’s River. It was a real experience. It was one of the most refreshing and adventurous things I have ever done. Amazing. Next day, we got a pass to a Sandals resort. I really thought of this while I was there, amazing in Jamaica, but I don’t think this hotel would last in St.Maarten. It’s an all inclusive resort, very beautiful, very well maintained and very friendly staff. The people went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. I went snorkeling, my first time, so I was a bit scared, I went sailing also, which I really enjoyed. Now I know why you guys love it here.
At night I went back to Margaritaville. I danced the night away with my friends. We slept for 1 hr before I realized that I was leaving again. Now, I’m home, back to work as usual and in my office on TTOL!!! I missed you guys! My trip was really fabulous; no I didn’t meet any guy on the way. I realized one thing though; nothing beats the food on St.Maarten. I ate at some of the best places, but the food just didn’t get me.
Everything else was great! I will try to put some pictures up for you guys to see. I hope you enjoyed reading my trip report as much as I enjoy reading all of yours.
Take care,
Love
Deepti
