First charter to Grenadines coming up in a couple weeks out of St Vincent with HYC. Any up to date knowledge on safe mooring balls?

Use your anchor wherever possible.

Sailed there 10 years ago, always on the hook. No issues, just dive the anchor.

Most charter boats take a mooring in Bequia. Just snorkel the mooring yourself to check it out. You can anchor in Bequia but you will be further away.
Moorings in the Tobago Cays are also available. The fees for a mooring in the Tobago Cays support the park as well. You can anchor but make sure you are well set, as the wind blows hard most of the time.

Just got back from a 8 day bareboat Charter with DYCs out of Grenada, In SVG used mooring balls in Clifton right off of happy island one night. The moorings are monitored by the Tobago Cays Marina park rangers and looked to be in good condition, 60EC for the night. If you go into Union, and you see a boat boy waving you off of the mooring balls infront of happy island, ignore him, He is just trying you to get to use his mooring ball and charge you 60 ECs for his mooring ball for a couple of hours
Used Mooring ball in Salt whistle bay (good condition - 60EC) - Boat boys were very helpful and appreciated the tip and the cold beer. Used a mooring ball in Tobago Cays (60EC) but this is the place you probably want to anchor unless you are in the channel between the two islands.
Also used a mooring ball off of Palm island - Free! but it was rollie.

For follow up, used balls in Bequia, Tobago Cays, Mustique, Saltwhistle Bay and all appeared to be in good condition. No issues and other than Saltwhistle, conditions were pretty rolly and windy. Mostly rookie crew so I appreciated the boat boys and they were tolerant. Didn't feel like the fees were at all unreasonable, except Mustique, which is well-published and we knew going in.
