Where’s my ocean and those beautiful cerulean skies with the big puffy clouds. I feel like I’ve been robbed........

We had a great almost three weeks and I’m inclined to think it was one of the BEST SXM trips we’ve ever had. Saw a lot of old friends and hopefully, some new ones as well. Ate too much and drank too much but OMGoodness, it was the best! And this was literally the first time in all our many trips over all our many years when my DH actually said he didn’t want to leave. That was huge! Royal Islander was very good and BSV? PERFECTION!!

Departing SXM via PJIA is always guesswork and this trip was no exception. They suggested three hours for clearing PJIA. We debated our midweek departure and settled on two and a half hours. There was a short line when we arrived and by the time we cleared the first hurdle of checking in with baggage at the JB counter, the line snaked back and forth and was quite long. I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience but it took us 45 minutes from curb side to seats at our departure gate. It can always be better but judging from the stories I’ve heard and read, it could have been a lot worse, too.

Our JB flight was typical and although we arrived a half hour early in NY, it was the typical zoo at JFK. Our bags took forever and even though our driver was there and waiting for us it was still after eight when we got home. I wonder who thought scheduling flight arrivals at NYC rush hour was a good idea, but in any event, another great trip for our book of memories.

As always, my most sincere thanks to Lesley Bruce, aka Kennys, for our trusty chariot, R13, and for being there for our pick up and drop off times exactly as promised. Lesley never disappoints and that’s over a lot of years and so many trips. He always goes that extra mile for his clients. And thanks, too, to Jeannie Gunthanen (sp?) and her Shopndrop staff for their usual good service. These two individuals contributed to the making of a perfect trip along with all the pleasant staff at Royal Islander and the fine family of staff at Beachside Villas.

And until next time, I hope others will continue with the sharing of trip details. No matter how small they may seem to you they are usually huge to those of us who sit and wait for our next turn.

Respectfully,

pat

Ellen and all,

Thank you for your very kind words and for joining us on our trip. It was my pleasure to share our experiences and activities with you, as well as our total inactivity on a few of those days. And who knows, by the time we go again I may even have figured out how to post my own photos. But probably not..........

In any event, once again, thanks for joining us.

Respectfully,

pat
