Never been to Little Dix bay but have been curious as to its suitability for anchoring or mooring. It looks like a great spot at least on Google Earth view! Anyone been by there post Irma with any feedback on current state of the beach area?

It was closed for renovations a year before Irma hit, and hasn't been open since then.

i anchored in LDB last week with a 45' cat. no problems! good holding, beach was beautiful. only negative was the construction noise from the re-build. looks like they have at least 6 months to a year to go. anchorage is beautiful!!

When the resort is active they really do not want boats anchoring there but I don't believe there is any action they can take. Mainly you don't want to get trapped in there in a north swell.

Didn't realize you could go in there. Had always heard it was too shallow. Is it anchor only or would you expect they'll have moorings after the rebuild?

As Glenn said above, they don't want to encourage private vessels near their beach, so I doubt they'll ever have mooring balls there.
