Can any of you TTOLers provide a reference of good experience for any of the many agents who will do the in-person visa application? We live in Colorado and are required to use the Houston office for our visa applications. Getting ready for a trip to Rio in August <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" /> .

Hi, I just saw this, so maybe you have figured something out. I used A Briggs in Denver 2 years ago. I had a complicated itinerary and short notice and they did a fine job.

Thanks, Dave! We decided to use DCS Visa Solutions in Houston; our passports are on their way back to us today with visas completed. They were very helpful and professional at a reasonable cost.

Just a follow up for future Brazil travelers - the visa to go to Brazil costs $180 per person, payable only by USPS money order, plus fees to whatever agency you choose to use. DCS Visa Solutions charged us $75 per visa, kind of in the middle of price range of responses we got to our e-mail inquiries to approved agencies. The visa is good for multiple entries for a 10-year period. Maximum stay is 90 days, and maximum days per year = 180. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/usflag.gif" alt="" />

I am wondering why you used an agent since you can handle this yourself directly with the Brazilian consulate in Houston by just sending your passports to them?
I live in Colorado too so I am just wondering.

As far as I know, you either have to appear in person at the consulate, or have an agent appear for you. I never found any mention on the consulate website of just sending the passports in, or we would have done that. It certainly could be that I missed something!

Maria and Steve - you made me curious! So I just went back to the Brazilian Consulate website, and it states emphatically, in bold and caps, that they do not accept visa applications by mail. Only by appointment if appearing in person at the consulate, or by an authorized agent who has an appointment. Just FYI -
