Has anybody been to Guadeloupe and can offer suggestions or advice about the beaches?

As far as I know, Pointe Tartare on the farthest eastern end of the island is the only nude beach on Guadeloupe, at least it was 25 years ago! Small beach, isolated, pretty but nothing fancy and no facilities then, don't know about now. There was a nude beach back then near Hotel Bois Joli on the west end of the beautiful nearby island Terre-de-Haut. Again, I am not sure if that is still there.

I would say probably 15 or so years ago, there was a nude beach there by the former Club Med. I have no idea the name of the beach, or whether it's still there either. Don't know if that is the same one you are referring to or not.

The nude beach at Pointe Tartare was still there a few years ago. The signs are not real good. The path is behind the restaurant. Not a big beach, but a small crowd was there. We were a little concerned about some of the locals hanging around, so my wife would not go back there.

Huh, I also had an issue with locals coming VERY close to us while we were on the beach, but we were only there one day, so don't know whether that is a constant problem or not.

Carol, Thanks, I forgot about the beach next to Club Med which I have not heard a word about since we were there in '93, I have a vague feeling it is no more but not sure.. It was very nice at the time, small but good sand and water. No perceived security issues. We stayed in a cabin near there and walked to the beach.

Chuck--I know it had to be after 93 that we were there, but not sure exactly when. The Club Med itself is gone, for sure. I think it was already gone when we were there.

Thank you all for your input. We are planning a trip in September and were interested in the feedback.
