With more cruise lines pulling out of ANU I bet the population is doing a happy dance. Antigua is an awesome island with great people. This is the best news I have heard in years.

Why are they pulling out of ANU? If true, they have a reason for being really happy!

Well perhaps SOME people would be happy, but many people make their living off cruise ship visitors, on many islands. Link to storyAnd your friends on Tortola I'm sure will be VERY happy with the last paragraph of that story... "Carnival-owned Holland America Line and Seabourn have also both pulled out of calls to Antigua. There could be more cruise lines to follow. Alternative ports of call are replacing Antigua such as St. Kitts and Tortola. "

Have you ever been on Cane Garden Bay after a mega cruiser has left? Probably not because then you would realize why Tortola hates cruise ships. The only business that benefits from the ships are the cabbies. (and of course the government). The island is TOO small to handle 3 mega ships at one time (12,000 people). They will not be happy campers when they hear the "good" news of more ships to come!

My comment regarding Tortola was meant to be tongue in cheek. Tortola is NOT a good cruise ship port. Antigua, on the other hand, I think will be hurt by less ships.
