We have heard that Le Piment has reopened, and the beach restaurants. Is that it currently, for eating out? What do you like?

Thanks

I think the question was whether there are other restaurants open in the Village, other than Le Piment? I think I have read there are several places open in the Village. The restaurant at Esmeralda is open also, along with the one at LaPlantation, and the one on top of the hill, whose name escapes me at the moment. Rancho del Sol, maybe???

There are actually plenty of restaurants open in the Orient Bay Village. Coming from the beach, we just had lunch today at the Bikini Beach Bar and Restaurant, next is the Yellow Sub, also quite nice, then at the village square are:
SAO Asia Factory (former Table d’Antoine)
Le Piment (the most busy place of all)
La Voile Blanche
La Trattoria (former Little Italy)
Le Petit Bistro
L' Atelier (just being opened these days)
Côté Plages
There are more eating places in the area, such as Astrolabe at Esmeralda, mentioned above by Carol. Plus beach bars and restaurants operational again, e.g. the Kakao, also spelled as KKO, and the Kontiki.

Vernon--what is your favorite in the Village, for high end and for casual eats? I think that we want to eat dinner in Orient Village in June. We haven't eaten dinner there in a long time.

We have been more recently at Le Piment (friendly and efficient service, moderate prices), Le Petit Bistro (good service, good food, great lamb), and to Bikini Beach (I was very happy with the 'Bavette Angus', a kind of soft flank steak for 19 euros (approx. $21.50). We have been to the Yellow Sub for drinks several times, no food. But the food we saw at neighbors looked great, especially meat on a very long skewer.
I guess, the Côté Plages is the top of the line at the village, but we haven't been there for years as we go on a budget smile . For casual eats, Le Piment, good and inexpensive pizza. Though, can be a bit hectic, when full. Enjoy!

We are on the island now. I think the quick response is you can’t go wrong in the village.

Our first night was at La Trattoria. We had Sea Bass and a pasta. Both outstanding. Our second night was Cote Plage. My wife’s shrimp Caesar was her favorite.

Tonight will be Le Piment for pizza.., so we’ll report on that later.

Dave

I am looking forward to trying L'Atelier. Per Facebook, they just opened Saturday night. They are billing themselves as a "meat and fish bar," and it looks very nice.

Trying to remember where L'Atelier is located. Is it in Orient Village?

This map unfortunately is not correct anymore. There have been many changes since this map was made.

My wife and I believe that Christelle's Le Piment is THE best restaurant in St Martin. Skip the pizzas. Share the Saint Marcelin cheese salad with another person, and then choose a special (or their famous ribeye steak with the "maple sugar" flavor). And don't forget Al Dente nearby, which has THE best Italian food on the French side.

The St. Marcelin cheese salad is one of my most favorite things at Le Piment!!!
