I know car rentals have been talked about ad nauseum, but I have found nothing about Europcars. Has anyone rented from them? Do they pick up at airport? PLEASE don’t waste time suggesting other places to rent cars. Thanks!!

I have wondered about them as well. Would be interested to know if someone has experience with them.

I had booked Europcars for week in St. Maarten in 2 weeks. Price was incredible on Orbitz. However, after doing some research founds tons of negative reports. Including some, better business type complaints. There was recurrent reports that low price was negated by large mandatory insurance coverage. Also, another recurrent complaint was when people returned the cars the agent immediately tried the key in the passenger door and when it would unlock door they were charged like $225 damage fee. Look, one or 2 complaints could just be a fluke or disgruntled types of people but recurrent complaints of similar nature by multiple people is a red flag. Renter beware here.

I ended up renting from Kenny’s who multiple people on here and TripAdvisor have recommended. More money but hopefully better experience.

We have a Versa from them at $185/week, it has a few dings, friends had a
Corolla with back up camera for the same price and it was in great shape.
And they just got in some new small Chevys.
They were fine to work with at pickup and return.

Well, maybe cleaned up their act. That’s good.
