Hi All,
Was wondering whether Fishtails Restaurant is closed forever or being rebuilt/remodeled. Any new restaurants in Red Hook and Cruz Bay?
Looking forward to our 3 weeks there very soon!
With all the webcams down. Can't see if they are having to clean the beaches up of the
sea grass or whatever it's called.

I see I need to change my countdown clock. if only I can remember how to do it, LOL!

Fishtails, as it was, is done. No action on any new restaurant going in that space. Too bad, we liked that place. Heard that Molly Malones was closed, remodeled and opened as a different restaurant with more of a seafood menu. Haven't been there so I'm not sure about it. Hope so.

Hi! Not sure when you were last there?

There is a new handmade taco place in Red Hook that opened up in the last month called Taco Chelles.

We have a place at Point Pleasant and the Shoreline Grill there is remodeled and re-opened and the fine dining spot at Point Pleasant, Mirador, just reopened after extensive renovations this weekend.

We love Bernies in Red Hook and Tap n Still.

Bernies has changed hands in Red Hook, can't think of the new name.
Taco Chelles is on the road just west of Independent Boat Yard, past Foodtown, not in Red Hook proper.

Thanks for the info LocalSailor! We are headed down in May and can't wait to see what's new.

I hope the vibe at the old Bernie's is the same. We had been there on a few occasions and it was fun.

Anything else new going on? We don't get into town much but will be making it a point to get there this trip.

Wow..we loved Fishtails..our lunch stop on our way to overnight at Emerald Beach on our Tortola/ Sonoma run. Any idea why it closed..it seemed very popular..Hurricane damage?

It didn't reopen after the hurricanes, not sure why. The sign is still hanging outside and the inside bar and seating area look the same. Can't say about the kitchen.
