Several of this years crew booked flights with close connections, one in Newark and the other in Washington Dulles.
We are flying to STT, then Foxy's Water Taxi to TMM. IF some of the checked luggage is delayed, does anyone know
how that works? Will Delta send it to TMM, or might we have to pick it up at the ferry terminal (customs) at either WE or Road town?

First..try to carry on only..second, if your bags dont make it they may get taken to the ferry and may get taken to Road Town where you will have to pick them up. Many "mays" in this equation. They also"may" stay in St Thomas for a while. No STT ferry service to West End..just JVD Ferry and private yachts.

I highly recommend you have a guy in STT. I use Stanley at Love cab. He will pick you up at the airport and get you to the best ferry option. Charges basically the same as the cabs and often can get a ferry held if needed. If you are missing bags Stanley will make sure they get on the ferry to the BVI. Keep one thing in mind, the chances of having a late bag go up exponentially with when you check the bag at the airport. Try hard to have the bag checked 90 minutes prior. Once you check the bag the airline delivers it to TSA. BVI bound bags often have things in them TSA wants to look at. Once they have ogled your bag it is released back to the airline to transport to the plane. If you check it 45 minutes prior it might not make the flight.
I recommend the same about having a guy in the BVI. I use Frank Ferrol and again he will coordinate getting a late bag to you and meet you at customs to go to your charter company. He will run you where you need to go for errands at a reasonable price.

All the suggestions are good. We do as GeorgeC1 does. We use the same taxi drivers on the respective islands. The taxi drivers seem to like having regular customers and go out of their way to provide good service. The drivers we regularly use are great at getting luggage, people, and provisions to us when need be. I think this is a great suggestion for this trip and future trips! Which TMM boat do you have chartered? Our catamaran is with TMM - S/V Ocean Song, a 2019 Lagoon 42.

We are on S/V Sea Tiger. We have used Kevin in STT for the past 5 or 6 years, and he is awesome!
I was just hoping to get some advise from someone that had some delayed luggage, and the
procedure that Delta uses to reunite the luggage with the passengers.

A couple years ago one of our crew’s luggage didn’t arrive at the airport in St Thomas. He filed lost luggage forms. His luggage arrived the next day. Since we had to head over to BVI. Delta took his luggage to the ferry and he picked it up at customs at West End. We just readjusted our sailing plans to work around getting his bag.

They will deliver the luggage to wherever you want on STT. If however you want to be sure of what Ferry and when it leaves have Kevin pick it up.

Kevin is who we use on STT as well. Met him through S/V Sea Tiger's owner. I don't know if you've chartered Sea Tiger before but she's a great sailboat! I crewed when she came back from Florida to Tortola last year and then spent a few more days aboard as we cruised the BVI.

We have had crew with lost luggage. Once with Delta and we arranged pickup a couple of days into our charter at Trellis. It was not my luggage so I was not in on how the arrangements were made, but the luggage met us at the dinghy dock on day #2. I will speak to the person who had the lost luggage with Delta and update you on what it took to be reunited with his belongings.

American had our lost luggage sent to the ferry dock, no issue retrieving it.
