Had dinner there tonight and at 7:00 PM The place was almost full and all of the regular help are back.
I didn't think that for the first night so many people would know that it was going to be open.
It was great to see every one again.

Thanks Elaine for the info.. I was heading out the door and refreshed the TTOL page and you post popped up.
Ate dinner there, congratulated George, this was the second first opening for me there. Sent photos and a video to a member here. Maybe the member can post.

Was told as of 11 AM this morning there was no furniture. So this all came together at the last minute.

Please just tell me that they did not replace those Captain chairs with more of the same around the bar. I am curious too as to whether Lisa and Nadia (bartenders) and Jim (host) have returned as they all had taken new jobs during the rebuild.

Jim was there yesterday at noon, but said he is helping out at the bar next door.

Lisa and Jim are there. Hoping they have the same bar chairs, most comfortable anywhere on the island.

Great news, always liked Skipjacks. We’ll be back in a month and will be sure to stop in.

There appear to be some reopening pains. Terribly slow service tonight, with almost an hour wait for our food. Waiter came by to check on us and he did track down our caprese salad about 45 minutes after we'd ordered, but then he advised us there were still 3 tables ahead of us in the kitchen queue. So we waited another 15 minutes for our dinners. I can recall often waiting longer than most restaurants to get my food at Skipjack's, but this was terrible.

In all our years we haven't been there. What's the draw?

Great reasonable seafood. I liked coconut shrimp hubby liked the grouper. Dining inside or on porch overlooking lagoon.

Georgia--definitely some of the best fish dishes available on the island, or they were, before Irma.

I will agree with that. Some things have been hit or miss there in the past.

Yes, we love Skipjack's also. If the have a dish called the Asian plate, try it. Judi and I both love it.

We have always had great food there especially all types of seafood. Sharon Harris highly recommended it several years ago and she knows all the best dining spots on the island. It also had a nice ambience right on the water. I can't believe you have never eaten there. Hope you can try it next time.

always one of our "go to" places while we're there. Never have had a bad meal, and usually get the spiny lobster or grouper (if they have it).
