Just a quick post/report from JVD based on our last week's land based trip.
We arrived via STT stayed first night on STT at Green Iguana. Great place and hosts 8:30 AM ferry CA to Roadtown, then cab to West End to catch 1PM ferry to JVD. We got to WE way to early and soon saw and learned why it is not up and functioning as in the past. Pretty humbling to get out of cab and not recognize a place you have been to many times. Provisioned from Riteway arrived as planned at the JVD ferry and was 100% accurate and packed perfectly. JVD we stayed at Seacrest Inn and it was as always clean, comfortable and welcoming. Dinners at Corsairs, AliBaba good as ever as was Foxy's Gertrudes still has best Roti on island. Drinks with Dorian at Hendos were great as was lunch. Ivan's is up and running...don't let looks fool you...beer is cold and the shrimp wrap is excellent. Watch the walk between Ivan's and Soggy area as the stairs suffered some damage, but it still is viable and beautiful. Less mooring balls in front of Ivan's with none up in front of Pink House Day trippers still ask that you get out of the water in front of the Soggy area so they can back their boats in. Guess they run the place....and you being in the water first don't matter. (Why we stay at Ivan's beach most of the days oh and yes "The gd Pats" did win the AFC (sorry CarolH).....enjoyed it at Foxy's...imagine the Super Bowl will be on there as well. JVD ferry to WE cab to RT and ferry to CA went perfect on the return. We left JVD at 9AM and were at the Emerald Beach 12:15..pretty good....
The regular cab fleet on island were all around so on island transportation was good.
Yes, the physical scars to the island are visible, but they are overshadowed by the spirit and strength of its' people.
If in the BVI stop at JVD and bring your smiles......

Great report! Jost is coming along nicely.
Shaasy67- best lunch? Hands down Hendos (White Bay), A&B (Great Harbour), and B-Line (Diamond Cay-Sandy Spit)
Had the ribs today at B-Line. Sooo Good!
