I know its been a while since Hurricane Irma but found myself reading an article talking about the cost of the damage done by the hurricane.

It's quite remarkable how far St. Maarten / Saint Martin has come since Irma. I haven't been back since Irma but from what I've seen online, the island is recouping quite well.

Any body have any good insights into how the island is now compared to before Irma?

Hi. It's very difficult to read that article, unless one subscribes, which I don't care to do..

I was able to read it quickly. First of all, it does not sound to be all that recently written. While it implies it may have been written in early January 2019, a lot of statements seem "forward looking". With so little being done overall on the French side, I would have expected move mention there.

Yea, I think it was something written at the time but only now published there.

Actually, just found this video from Phil Friday from this past christmas, hes an american that visits SXM quite often.

Pretty good job overall, with a few errors and speculation on his part. He uses the term "private" in conjunction with a couple of beaches and then corrects himself.
