I have been asking the same question. It seems as if an ownership dispute between current and formal owners is holding things up. There was a facebook post ( in French) from an attorney who is the brother of Gerard ( former owner). I was able to get a confirmation from him that Gerard survived the hurricane. We have booked a villa through VRBO for our March 2019 upcoming trip. We went to Club Med in Martinique for our March 2018 getaway, so it will be our first trip back to St. Martin since the big one.

Walked all around it the first week of December. No construction activity at all. Lot of damage. Pool looked grim. Sections of roof still missing.

Thanks for the updates. We ended up in Aruba last May, but have booked at Jardin d'O for our first post Irma trip this March. I have seen a couple Orient Beach drone videos and it pretty much confirms a lack of reconstruction activity. Hope they get the dispute resolved and reopen soon.
