Spending one night in Puerto Rico (SJU). Any recommendations on hotel in a good area for walking around and dinner/breakfast? Just me, so would rather keep it to the ~$150 range . Thanks!

Even the airport hotel will cost more than that! Do you have any Marriott points or free stays? For dinner, we love Cayo Caribe in the Condado.

Orbitz shows plenty in that range. The point was that I'm not trying to impress my wife. Traveling solo on that trip. Looking for good wifi, a good restaurant, a few streets to walk around and a good night's sleep. Thanks for the dinner recommendation! TIA!

Prices are dropping a bit, but after the hurricanes they skyrocketed, as availability was reduced and there were plenty of aid workers needing rooms. When the airport hotel got above $200/night, we started looking for alternatives. We’ve stayed twice at the AC Condado.
Another time we took the evening flight to Tortola and stayed at Maria’s, saving a lot of money. In March we’re back at the airport hotel because we have a 6am flight Stateside.

We stayed at the Decanter in Old San Juan. Definitely a good walking area, good restaurants in the area. Probably a bit more than your price range. We also did a food walking tour with Flavors of San Juan that we liked quite a bit.

Hotel Milano in Old San Juan. In October it was under $150 with a really good roof top restaurant and walk able to all of the old city.

If you are open to airbnb ideas there are some great deals in good areas. We have used airbnb our last two trips and haven't been disappointed. We have stayed in Isle Verde area which is close to the airport and this last time stayed in Condado which has lots of great restaurants. Old San Juan would be a great area to walk around in as well.
The restaurant el alambique in the isle de verde area was spectacular! The seafood and everything else was superb. Very friendly and relaxed environment, and right across from the beach. We could have eaten every meal here.

If you want a taste of old SJU you should go for a drink in the courtyard of the El Convento Hotel in Old San Juan
