We got there pretty early about 9, like 5 people there. Chairs/umbrellas were lined up.

Lots of seaweed piled up so unable to get in the water which had alot of seaweed as well.

Place filled up between 10-11.

Had a perch burgers and fries and Caribs. Very good.

The restroom was very nice. Wooden box building with a thetford flushing rv toilet that has a water tank and then a blackwater tank outside. No sink. Hand sanitizer.

Saw some familiar faces for sure. But having spent 2010/11 and 2015/16 new years at CO we know there are folks who came every year at this time sometimes for long stays. Not sure where they are.

Papagayo looks fixable. Like theyve said, some units could be salvaged but who knows.

So, it was all good. It is still the best AN beach in the world with that breeze, view and the umbrella.

Thanks for the update. PP...much appreciated. Seems like the seaweed problem is becoming more frequent. We were last on the island in 2014, and several times prior, and it was really never an issue when we visited in July. I wonder if this is the new normal for OB. We spend a lot of time in the water, so it will be a bummer if we can't get in because of seaweed. I suppose there are plenty of other beaches, but OB is our favorite. Enjoy your time there!

We are so glad to hear they upgraded the bathroom! Last year it was very rustic! Lol. We were wondering how that was going to work with a lot more people there than there was last January. Enjoy!

Is $13 is for the chairs near the rocks? It was $20 for the (former) Club O chairs. I'm surprised about the seaweed. When we were there in Dec. there were was very little. Cedric & his guys were keeping it pretty clean. Shrimp & ribs at Perch Lite were also delicious.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

Just 1 chair and umbrella. Must be the difference for loners.

Will be at OB Feb 1. This has probably been discussed but Is the Club O section of beach primarily nude?

It’s clothing optional. You can wear a business suit or birthday suit or anything in between.
