My wife and I are heading to Santiago Chile for a date weekend, Dec 26th and return Dec 31st. Just an absolute random choice, we had two tickets on AA that we had to use by year end. Anyone have any fun tips?

it is a long way, but just 9 hours from DFW, Flight leaves late at night, so you can just stretch out and snooze. arrive fresh in the morning, return is a 1030 pm, so you just snooze all night. You don't lose any days to travel. We have done our date weekends to Buenos Aires and Montevideo, they were easy as the time change isn't much. As long as you can sleep on the plane. But by heading South, we pick up a huge amount of daylight and warm weather.

Guess it depends on what kind of a seat you have!! I'm thinking you must have booked first or business class, if you're talking about "stretching out"!
