We will be visiting Grand Cayman is a couple of weeks and would like to dine in one of the best restaurants near Morritt's Grand Resort. Looking for some recommendations serving seafood and local island menus. Also if there are any nice venues for cocktails and live music close by. We would be interested in any other information by recent visitors which may enhance our vacation experience.

The Reef Resort next door to Morritt's has weekly musical entertainment, including Cayman's own "The Barefoot Man".

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions. We are looking forward to spending some relaxing time on the island. We will have a car so we plan to tour around, but it is often nice to have good restaurants close by to enjoy an evening meal and some local entertainment.

My favourites are Tukka, Rum Point Dinner, Italian Kitchen (only have tried the fish specials so far and no true Italian dishes yet) and Kaibo Upstairs.

We were there for 8 nights last week and enjoyed the BFM our last evening along with a nice dinner at the Reef. That was his last show until Nov unfortunately. But he may play with Chuck at other venues so do check for that, great show!
For dining on the East and North end we loved the Rum Point restaurant, excellent lobster and pasta primavera. We took the free Red Sail cat sail there and it was an amazing evening. Unfortunately a week ago last Sunday was their last night until Oct. We were closing places down...
But the Wreck Grill at Rum Point has an excellent fried grouper BLT that is a must. Their mudslide is also the best.
The Reef Resort has a decent dinner menu along with a bar menu. The Rusty Pelican (the Reef beach bar) is a nice spot to enjoy the evening with tables in the sand.
We wanted to hit Vivines but didn't make that stop.

If you get to the West area there are a ton of excellent dining options of course. Will you be going to that area for dinner?

[edit] there should be a dj and another performer at the Reef while you are there so you will have some fun evenings.
Have a great stay on the island!

Thanks for the info from your recent visit. It sounds like there will be several interesting dining spots close by so looking forward to trying a few. We will be travelling to the West side sometime during the day and may also stay for dinner one evening. We like to spend our days at the beach and then our evenings not too far from the resort.

The Reef will definitely be on our agenda as it seems like a nice spot to spend an evening.

The Barefoot Man is still playing at The Reef every Thursday evening and he is a great entertainer! We really enjoyed ourselves there last evening! So glad we were able to spend some time listening to him and enjoying the great tropical cocktails at The Reef.
