Looks like the drinking age will increase from 16 to 18 on the Dutch side of the island. At least it will be consistent on both sides.

Uhmmmm. Who will be checking? LIke everything else, Laws are placed but not enforced... And sure those who serve alcohol will be more interested in the money than who is buying... But great idea lol

A friend on mine says "laws are only guidlines" as he speeds down the road. I don't agree with that but some do.lol

I once had a new postmaster tell me the same thing. "The contract is only a "guideline" and I can do what I want". A few grievances later (that the PO lost), he did come around.

Pretty sure they have had one for some time, just not really enforced.

I keep telling him it will all come back to catch him.

Funny I can’t recall seeing kids as young as 16 drinking but guess as I never knew the drinking age I never paid any attention.

We were often told, with regard to drinking ages on de islon, “if you’re old enough to climb onto the bar stool, you’re old enough to drink!” But it was said very much tongue in cheek and usually only by the bartender who had already thoroughly assessed the age situation of the person in question. Well, with a few exceptions, perhaps........

Respectfully,
