We will be going to SXM in about two weeks and have some questions concerning how and where to rent the chairs and umbrella in front of Club O. 1st, where do you purchase the weekly chairs and umbrella? It used to be at the water sports shack, but where now? 2nd, they used to accept credit cards for the weekly rentals, do they still do that? 3rd, are there any bushes or tree near the chairs that provide additional shade? We used to always get chairs near the old Perch and the trees and bushes provided additional shade in the afternoon. 4th, with the weekly rentals we used to get a parking pass to park in the Club O lot: is that lot still available to park in even though Club O is closed?
two weeks (16 days) and counting down!!!

doctor hopefully will chime in and answer all your questions for sure. I know for certain there is no fee for parking now. And you park right by Perch Lite, which is MUCH closer to the beach than the old Club O lot. There is no security now, so park as close to the beach as you can. I don't remember if you can drive through the Club O grounds, but I wouldn't regardless, as I would be afraid of picking up a nail or some other debris in my tires. You drive as if you were going to where Pedro's USED to be, and then make a right when you see the Perch Lite and park there. I would doubt they are accepting credit cards, although it is possible, I guess. As to weekly passes, don't know, as we didn't ask. However, if they are selling them, they would be directly from the chair rental guys, as there is no one on the beach except the chair rental guys and the folks at the Perch Lite. As far as shade other than the umbrellas, no, not really. Here's a picture that Beachkitten took in May this year of the area. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.traveltalkonline.com/gallery/40/full/981.jpeg)

It used to be at the water sports shack, but where now? Chairs are laid out, just sit in one and Cedrick will find you for the money 2nd, they used to accept credit cards for the weekly rentals, do they still do that? They weren't in July, no internet for the machine 3rd, are there any bushes or tree near the chairs that provide additional shade? We used to always get chairs near the old Perch and the trees and bushes provided additional shade in the afternoon. No, only umbrellas with the chairs 4th, with the weekly rentals we used to get a parking pass to park in the Club O lot: is that lot still available to park in even though Club O is closed? No parking charge and parking is right on the beach next to Perch Lite, Drive down to the old Pedro's and turn right instead of left right onto Club O's beach
two weeks (16 days) and counting down!!! 13 for us!!

The parking if you get there early enough is close to Perch Lite and an overflow lot to the left as you come in. There is no charge for parking. We have been paying $20.00 per day to Cedric in cash. All purchases at the Perch and chair rentals are cash, There no longer is a weekly rental break, If you get there by 9:30 it has been our experience that many chairs are available. Hope this helps. Bikini takes credit cards. carib cheers doctorj
