Any recommendations on where to do Old Years Night 2018? I fear that the 20 year olds in my crew are a bit spoiled as they have done Foxy's a few times. Due to our itinerary and when the boat has to get back, Bequia (which would be my first choice) is not an option. Any thoughts on Mustique, Union Island, Mayreau? Assuming that the Tobago Cays will be quiet (which I would enjoy, LOL).

I can’t see how Mustique would be any better logistically than Admiralty Bay on Bequia. Ruling those two out I would probably head for Chatham Bay on Union. Clifton can be a train wreck on a normal night. Would probably a casual, impromptu but fun night in Chatham.

We are coming from St. Lucia on the 29th. Unfortunately, we have to take the boat back to St. Lucia by the 4th. I typically do one-ways but we are on my brother's boat and it has to go back to St. Lucia. Was thinking Pitons to Bequia on the 29th, Mayreau on the 30th, then back to Mustique (if it is worth it) or Union for the 31st. Then we would do Tobago Cays on the 1st and either back to Bequia or Young Island Cut on the 2nd, Pitons or Marigot on the 3rd and return boat on the morning of the 4th. I am VERY open to suggestions. I grew up in Grenada and we lived on our boat so I do have some of my favorites that I don't want to miss out on (Bequia, Tobago Cays and Mayreau). We didn't go to Mustique much because every time we did we dragged anchor and it was a hassle. That was back before the bouys were there. PSV was actually my all time favorite (that was when as kids we could roam the whole island and play with the yellow labs) but just don't see that happening with our short time frame.

What do you mean by Clifton can be a train wreck? We haven't planned well every time we have been there and it has either been Christmas Day or Boxing day and the town was pretty much shut down. Never been to Chatham...might need to give it a try.

Even though one of my all time favorite watering holes is Happy Island in Clifton it can be a crowded and busy port. Chatham is the anti Clifton. The last time I was there it was more small makeshift beach bars with one major resort. Very non commercial. Good holding and plenty of swing room. As far as Mustique goes, the Life Styles of the Rich & Famous never did much for me. It used to be you paid for a 3 day mandatory mooring even if you were there for only one night.

I would suggest Righteous or Dennis on Mayreau. It will not be anything close to Foxy's but it should be a good time.

Salt Whistle will probably be packed and watch the weather in Saline. N., W. or S.W. can lead to an interesting night there.

The problem with planning a stop at Mystique during the holidays is depending on which VIP's are on the island, you may be restricted in where you are allowed to go onshore.

Drink all day at home, your friends worry about you; do it on vacation and they say "what a good time you're having". Save your friends needless worry, travel more!
