My husband, Bruce, and I are so excited about our first sailing/diving adventure in the Southern Caribbean. We are chartering from Horizon in Grenada for 10 days beginning Sept 28. We want to see as much as we can while there but our main interests are sailing to great dive and snorkel sites as we are both Advanced PADI Divers and will have tanks aboard. Obviously we will spend some time at Tobago Cays but would appreciate any other advice. We prefer uncrownded anchorages with good holding. Also....want to know great places for lobster! Really spoiled by BVI/Anegada lobster. Because it is so different from VIs I would love to see rainforests, waterfalls, etc. also. Guess I want it all and only have 10 days. HELP!!! Thanks for any response! Pat

Chatham bay, Union Island was very quiet when we visited two years ago in June. Good snorkeling on the left side and the Shark Attack beach BBQ was excellent.

As in the other post, I'd be happy to send a chart with our sailing times and distances from 2 years ago. Just PM me your email address. I tried to post a link to it in the other post, but it requires a password to view.

Are you spending any time in Grenada pre or post boat?

I know you are asking Pat if she is staying in Grenada pre/post, but that is something I haven't asked about yet. My wife and I are staying 4 nights after to check it out. We haven't made reservations yet, which might be a mistake because it's December 20, 21, 22, 23, 24... Thoughts?

La Sagesse was our favourite, but it's a ways out of town. We loved it for that reason. The owners may drop you in town and pick you up if they are going in. It's a beautifully tranquil spot with a lovely beach, lovely staff, and great food.
I don't know anywhere in town, as we've only stayed at La Sagesse.

La Sagesse is a beautiful location - agreed! (We got married there...) But, if you are only going to stay 4 nights, I would suggest staying closer to town. We love Mt. Cinnamon (apartments and villas, pool, restaurant, beach club, and close to everything). The Grand Anse area where Mt. Cinnamon is located, is a popular location on a 2 mile white sand beach. Beautiful! Depending on your budget, there are many hotels in that area. It is also walking distance to shopping, and the bus that will take you in to town. We have stayed at Lance Aux Epines as well. Small villas, lovely beach, very casual. Lance Aux Epines is a little further away however. In the Lance Aux Epines area, there is a lovely hotel called Calabash (high end).
