We are looking into chartering for 3-4 weeks out of Antigua. Plan would be to check out Monserratt and then head south to Guadeloupe , Dominica, etc. Any insight or tips, on anchorages, to do's etc greatly appreciated. David

We prefer Antigua over BVI, no crowds, better beaches. But we are not big social life out at bars, we are more social with other boats.
Great grocery and restaurants in Jolly Harbour. If you don't start there, you can anchor out and take the tender in, but it will be a long drive. Best to get a transient slip, overnight, drop off laundry and choose from several restaurants. Usually we were ready for a fresh water pool and hit the pool.
Dickerson Bay is busy, but some nice dining our choices there.
Hiking the volcano in Guadeloupe takes some time, but pretty cool.
I found the jump up at Shirley Heights was a bit over rated. Cool view, visit on another day.
