We (Married couple in our 50's) are heading back to the BVI and are looking for recommendations for places to stay on land.
We do not land STT until 4:31 PM. When is the last ferry to Roadtown on a Saturday?
Over 7 nights, we would like to stay on 3 different Islands. Anegada, Tortola and 1 other.
We will spend our days exploring, so at night we prefer a quiet room that we can have a natural breeze coming in.
Where would you stay?

Your arrival time at STT may not line up with catching a ferry to Tortola on your arrival day. Currently the schedules are showing nothing after 4:15 pm. As the trip gets closer, additional times may be added.

If you can’t get Tortola on day one, stay right near the airport on STT at one of the two hotels on Lindenberg Bay. Both have food and a bar. Emerald Beach is our favorite. All Oceanfront rooms.

On Tortola, I would stay at the Sugar Mill in one of their Plantion rooms. Sebastian’s is also a good choice.

We would not split our time by staying on different islands, rather we would do day trips out of a central base, such as Tortola. Too much packing, unpacking for me! Day trips to Anegada, Jost, Virgin Gorda are easy to do.

As said..that is too much interisland travel and /ferry hopping for seven days. The advice to stay on Tortola and do day trips is very smart..JVD for the day..VG for the day..and maybe Anegada. But just staying and not packing unpacking etc will be a big plus..Depening when yo are coming I would offer our place on the water in Apple Bay but we are still in post Irma fixup..

You will not make the last ferry to Tortola when you arrive so definitely plan a night on St. Thomas.

Sugar Mill is closed so I would look at Sebastian's at this point.

For Anegada, I would try to get one of the D&H Sunshine Villas.

We would be very happy to have you stay with us for any number of days. Jost Van Dyke for the day is an easy trip. The ferry is less than a 10 minute drive from Sugar Apple. We are near restaurants and bars and beaches.

I'm a firm believer that spending a night or two at a new place vs a day trip to the same is more relaxing and allows time to explore. Don't let others spoil your desires and plans just because your itinerary is not what they would do. You know how you like to travel.

Figure out your modes of transport to your destinations and from where they depart, then select your lodging accordingly. Lots of good advice on places to stay here. Enjoy.

I don't have any suggestions on places to stay that aren't already mentioned. I'll just add that I'd make sure you carefully plan out the logistics going between places so you don't spend too much time dealing with going in between. As an example, ending on Jost might make sense if you can take a ferry back to STT from west end. I think Virgin Gorda would be out unless you started there, then Anegada followed by your last stay on Tortola?

If it was me, I'd figure out the ferry schedules and other travel related schedules and see which places offered us the most time in each location.

And I have to ask as my curiosity gets the better of me.. why a land trip vs boat given you want to visit multiple islands?

FYI - no ferries to STT from West End.

Regarding why I am not sailing...
Cost and crew are the 2 biggest reasons. Other than that, my wife prefers a land based trip.
