Another fine day which began with a walk on the beach and watching the NE Patriot cheerleaders go through their morning workout. We were not inspired to workout and instead decided to take a quick drive around the island to see what we could see. Lots of construction and cleanup happening all around the island. I think the thing that hit home for us was seeing Orient. We were/are LeString people. That was our place to go. Nothing left but a tile slab. It did seem that there was a crowd at The Perch. We didn't go down as far as Bikini beach but did see lots of umbrellas up so we assume they had a crowd as well. We visited Le Croissant Royal formerly Le croissanterie to pick up croissants. We met the new owners--they had worked in the kitchen for the previous owner and were there with their daughter. I hope they do well. They weren't terribly busy when we were there. The market in Marigot had a nice crowd.
Headed back to Divi and the beach. We had a late supper at Jimbos and made a quick stop at Hollywood Casino to see some old friends. Miracles of miracles, we all left the casino ahead of the game. Let's hope that trend continues.

How were the croissants/food? One of our favorite places in the world was the original restaurant...

Thanks for the report. How was Jimbo's? Was it busy?

We arrived late--9ish, there were three or four tables. My dad loves ribs and thy didn't disappoint--wet and fall off the bone variety. We also enjoyed the Corpus Christi shrimp chimichanga--creamy sauce with shrimp inside a fried tortilla. It's only Wednesday and we will all need to diet after the trip. I'm not sure I can figure out how to post photos of the food or I would! We spoke for a bit with Jim and he said it's a very slow low season.

I'll try and do a better job at descriptions. We are not gourmet foodies when we are here but I'll give it a shot! Today I'm trying to figure out how I can convince everyone to stay in for dinner. I'm researching braised grouper recipes!

Had the croissant French toast this morning, they are exactly the same! I believe the menu is the same. Think we will go back Friday with friends!
