Another day in paradise started with breakfast on the balcony. We went down to the beach & was greeted with another brief shower but not as bad as yesterday. The rainbow that followed made up for the inconvenience. The surf was really rough today & I was a little leary about going in so my husband & I decided to take a tour of the resort. We had heard that some of the buildings were painted & had gotten new roofs so we thought we would take a look.As we walked around we checked out all the pools & took a few dips. The buildings were the ones way at the top of the hill is you are familiar with Simpson Bay Resort, they looked great, a big difference.
Lunch was the best kept secret at SBR. The Peli Deli sells double decker sandwiches for $4.50. Three slices of bread, lettuce, tomato, cheese & meat.
The girls went on a booze cruise out of the marina put on by Aquamania. For $15.00 they take you for 1 1/2 cruise along the coast with all the beer & rum punch you can drink.
We went to the managers meet & greet. No managers, no snacks, & very few people compared to other years. We had a glass of wine and checked out the vendors. I bought two beach coverups.
Dinner was at Toppers By The Sea. We enjoy outdoor dining & if it is on the beach it is even better. I love their calamari appetizer with banana peppers in garlic sauce. Three of us had the brisket with mashed potatoes & gravy (just like homemade) & the other two had steak & shrimp. They were giving free shots of their own brand of flavored rum. I liked the white chocolate raspberry.
After dinner we stopped at the Hollywood Casino and made a deposit. The night ended with a bowl of chocolate Etna ice cream.
