I didn't take a picture, but the building is still 'standing', sort of. We didn't walk down there, but viewed from in front of Perch Lite, the roof appeared to be in sections and the sections were all whopper-jawed, looked like the whole building had been picked up and thrown down. Most of the rest of the buildings that are there at Club O appeared to be somewhat cleaned out, possibly with the thought they will be refurbished and re-used? We didn't go look at them up close.
It still stands but will not be open in the near future. Plans are to get 30 units ready by winter. You can certainly understand that with that many units even at full capacity Papagayo could not be supported profitabily. carib cheers, doctorj
Might be premature, but how does one express interest in booking for the winter, knowing full well it might not be a sure Hing. The Club website wasnt working yesterday.
We booked flights arriving after Christmas for almost 2 weeks. We have a clue where well end up but we might jump at paying more for Club O. I suspect pent up demand is high and im sure owners and depositers het first dibs but hey others can gill gaps in bookings. But probably premature.
At this point I would say premature. Several of the units that are standing will have to be torn down, meaning that the walls are not structurally sound from appearance. What I saw of those couple of units was that the front door/window are was at a 15 to 20 degree angle from being straight, so that would have to be demolished I would think. Others it appears could be salvage as the basic structure seemed to be intact.
They said before that those who had donated to Club O would be the first to get reservations, so perhaps they will be contacting those people directly??
Club Orient is attempting to open as many rooms as possible at the end of this year.
We don’t know yet exactly when as it depends on a host of things, some of which are beyond our control.
When the time comes, we will be posting it immediately on Facebook, as well as send out emails to everyone on our mailing list.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue on our path to recovery. We'll get there as quickly as we can thanks to all of you help and support.

When we were there in May Stephen was going through units with a supplier. Please believe me when I say they will rebuild. Club O will be bigger and better. It may be slower than we all want but until you have seen the destruction, understand the system, and realize the constraints we cannot appreciate the task ahead. I am so grateful that our friends who work at Club O are all safe. It was a close call for some. carib cheers, be patient and please visit the island, doctorj
