In my retirement, I have taken to putting together 1,000-piece puzzles while I watch TV in the evening, and I post the completed results to Facebook. One of my Facebook friends is Don Gadberry, known on this forum as DonLinda. Don is quite a photographer, and has had both puzzles and canvases made from his pictures. He decided he was going to have a puzzle made for me of pictures from SXM. He used some of his photos and also mine which he copied from my Facebook page. The completed result is shown here. I simply love, love, love this puzzle. I was going to have it framed, but Don suggested I have a canvas made, which I have ordered. That way, I can assemble the puzzle again in the future. Win-win!

This is great. I wish I had this puzzle! I once used this stuff called 'modge podge' (not sure about the spelling) that looked like Elmer's glue. Once a puzzle that you wanted to save was finished, you took a soft paint brush and applied this evenly over the puzzle. It sealed all of the pieces together, and then cleared and became transparent. I applied this to a few puzzles in the past and it worked quite well. So, if you change your mind and decide not to do the puzzle again in the future this is an option to consider. Just curious about one thing. Is that the Sunset Beach Bar in the upper right corner? I've had some interesting experiences at that place if it is!

That's one of Don's pictures, and I'm not sure where it was taken. I'll see if he can check in here and answer your question.

I did not take the picture in the upper right, but it came across my screen and while back and I saved it in my SXM folder. I think it was taken in Beacon Hill.. Thanks to all who enjoy the puzzle. I have made quite a few using photoshop and PortraitPuzzzles.com. Wish everyone of the Island well.... Miss our Ocean Club.

I requires some photo editor skills.. For this size, 1008, I create a blank canvas of 300 dpi 20X26 inch and fill it with a good background color. Then chose an image, size it... (and I create a layer from the background and use a lariat to surround it, choose the inverse and 'delete' to make the edges transparent) and move the image to the canvas and get another image .. Fill the main canvas with the images and merge all the layers. Put an edge around it....and hope it looks good.

How's that...took me about 10 years to make it easy.

Wow, OK. I'm not very tech friendly, but that sounds complicated! Are you interested to doing this for a fee for people who are interested??

Hmmmm...it is a possibility. I takes about 10 hours to put one together... I create the image from the pictures the clients send me.... hmmm... this has possibilities...

Let me tease a bit with some of the puzzle images I have created. when I get them in one spot...

Thanks Carol for asking.
