Hello fellow TTOL'ers....would appreciate any insight as to a nice place to stay in St.Kitts.

Looking for a period around Memorial Day weekend, as it's hubby's big birthday. Would normally go to St Maarten, but well...you know. frown

My requirements:
-kitchen - to alleviate cost of meals and not eat out all the time
-a/c
-King bed
-pool
-prefer near or on beach, but can drive or walk if necessary

Trying to do this for under $250 a night. Condo, one bedroom villa, whatever!

Thanks in advance.

Check out Sealofts, Leeward Cove, Sugar Bay Club, St. Christopher Club or any of the other condos complexes at Frigate Bay. You’ll find more than a dozen different condo complexes that offer both beach front and beach access units. All will also be within walking distance of more than a dozen restaurants and beach bars. You should have no difficulty finding units in your price range for the time period you are traveling.

It’s been quite a few years since we vacationed on St. Kitts but I hope you do yourself a big favor and spend a day (or two?) on Nevis. It’s a short hop away and very lovely and different from StK.

Respectfully,

pat

Wondering why this was moved from BVI to general questions?

Despite not sailing this trip, its not BVI?

St. Kitts is definitely not in the BVI!

Good, you are all on your toes! lol

We may only have 5 nights, but would probably try to visit Nevis. Our friends from Anguilla are there part of the time.

Still not being successful in finding a place. Thanks Fletch, but I've checked most of those locations out...no King beds or no availability.

Not beachfront but overlooking the Royal St. Kitts Golf course and just a 5 to 7 minute walk from either the Caribbean and Atlantic side beaches at Frigate Bay try: Calpso Bay Resort (actually rental condos), Silver Reef Condos and Sugar Bay Villas. Also, have you checked Timothy Beach Resort, many of their rooms & Suites kitchenettes and king size beds. For what it is worth - there are well over 200 rental condos/villas in the Frigate Bay area - I'm sure many have king size beds - check websites like VRBO, AirBnB, Homeaway for listings. Anything in the Frigate Bay area will be either beach front, beach access or just a few minute walk to the beach.

Thanks Fletch. Found the purrrfect place at Calypso Bay. Fits all of my requirements. Only issue now is the same as I was having with St Maarten....crazy high air fares from DC!

Unfortunately, getting to SKB is always going to be "crazy high." I'm also in the Balt/DC region, and we go to Nevis every other year. I budget $800/person, round trip, and am happy if I can use miles or get a better fare. Make sure you try all 3 area airports. Even though you note high fares to SXM, do consider using that as part of your routing, and connecting to SKB from SXM using a local carrier like WinAir -- there are more flight options from the US to St. Maarten than St. Kitts, and you might get lucky and find a fare sale. Also, for our last Nevis trip, some of our group flew to San Juan from BWI using Southwest and then got to St. Kitts using Seabourne.

Thanks Eva...I spent last night trying every sort of combination! One ways, Puerto Rico, Miami, NYC.

Do most flights all get into SKB late? The large airlines were landing at 7pm or later...almost a whole day lost traveling to something that seems so close!

Depending on your planned day of travel Delta has non-stop flights from Atlanta, American has non-stops from Miami and Charlotte and United has non-stops from Newark - all of which leave their respective airports between about 8:39AM and 11:15Am and get you to St. Kitts between about 1PM and 3:30PM.
