Just got an email from Cruise Critic, MSC Seaside, inside cabin sailing from Miami, stops in Bahamas, Puerto Rico and SXM, $429 a person for a week!! 3/31/18 sailing. Don't know anything about that cruise line, but boy that's cheap for a 7 day cruise!

It's the newest, biggest ship in MCS cruise line.

Huh? Since it is a month away it would be pretty easy for people in other parts of the country to get to FL for this cruise. A lot of cruises depart from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and they are not just for "Florida people".

I guess it was that Florida people might not have to fly, and thus saving that money.

True, but one has to get where the ship departs from one way or another.

BTW, just had a message from a friend who spent the day on SXM today via a cruise. They had been there before and enjoyed some speed boat excursion but she said the devastation was unbelievable.

As a cheapskate i have been drawn to MSC deals before. They supposedly are/were the largest ship operator in the world.

But weve never pulled the trigger.

I usually go inside as that is a nice dark place to sleep and i dont want to hang out in the room.

I would steel myself prior to departure expecting lousy food, bad service, etc knowing that their ocean is as blue as all the other ships and the beer just as cold and the ports will be there when they arrive.

I expect inwould be pleasantly surprised as ive never had a bad cruise only different cruises between ships and lines.

Ive heard expect Carnival minus with lots of non english speaking europeans. Kind of like a med cruise.

I have two friends who just returned from a cruise on MSC and said they were not impressed. Would not choose a cruise with that line again for various reasons. Cleanliness was a big problem.

Had to laugh at islandgem's comment about cleanliness. Guess it's pretty hard to keep to keep those "inside" cabins clean when they're right next to the engine room! Bargain cruises usually aren't "such a deal" for various reasons.

What is included in that price? I wonder how much the alcohol, soda, juice and coffee packages are per day per person? I wonder hw much the mandatory gratuity is per day per person? I find that when the base price is low everything else is expensive.

Pretty much nothing is included in ANY cruise price! (except for the premium cruise lines) laugh
