Five days since arrival, easy though customs, but bags were dropped off carts in crowded tent, no big deal, had great burgers at Buccaneer Bar first night, lot of people there with great music. Sunday grocery shopped at the fabulous new Carrefour by the round-about and at night good food at Green House, only 30% occupied, Mon. visited Flamingo workers as they were leaving for the day, they have one more week before they are out of work, however a few of them will be working for the construction company that is now stripping the building to redo the whole complex. Tuesday, did a small tour, Maho area in bad shape, Cupe Coy, lot of damage to old building, but newer hotels look fairly good along with Marina area pretty good. Dinner at Toppers, only two tables besides ours, great food good price. Wed. easy day and lots of cruise people on Kim Shaw beach, fantastic pizza from La Patrona at night. Today beach day with very few on the beach, no cruisers, and then great great prime rib at the Green house.

Isola restaurant according to Marko is open since right before Christmas has new glass enclosure, good food, a little pricey. Also, Skipjacks is being worked on by Dennis, Jim and other workers, but will take awhile to get it up and running. Talked to David at Izi they are open for lunch along with the normal evening dinner, however they are closed on Mon. night not on Tuesday night as listed on the web.

What info if you would share, could the workers at Flamingo pass on. Very interested as owner there since the 80's and getting very little to no info from Diamond. So sad to hear they are letting staff go. Thanks in advance.

Stopped by the Flamingo last Thur. again and saw all three of the beach help, they were really happy to see us old friends. Raymond is very optimistic about working with the new construction people and Renee & Jerome say they have faith that they will find something. Also, the tall maintenance fellow with long hair has been asked to help in the reconstruction faze, being that he is familiar with all the facilities. Sorry, at this moment I don't recall his name. On another note, had a FANTASTIC dinner at Izi Sat. night, they have a set menu along with the regular one and very reasonably priced
