That last one makes me wonder if Bernadine is still in Guadalupe. I can't tell what happened to her storefront. So very sad.

Reminds me that while recovery is underway we are all in someway in mourning/grieving/coping over what happened just now only 4 months ago. I cant imagine what it must be like.

I'm pretty sure that the damage shown in the first photo (the one behind Starz Casino) has nothing to do with Hurricane Irma. That damage was caused by Hurricane Luis in 1995. The backhoe in the photo is doing demolition work -- more than 22 years after the hurricane devastated St. Maarten.
It's an example, perhaps, of how long hurricane recovery can take.

Correct. It's not the casino but the buildings up behind, which are being demolished even though they have stood through how many hurricanes? Wow! They are finally coming down. We stayed there years ago when it was called Treasure Island. These pictures are very sad!!

The longer these structures sit open to the elements, the more damage will be done to the lower floors. I can't see how this will ever be repaired.

Can you say "mold much"? and destroying the walls, infrastructure, etc? As someone who has had respiratory issues....it ain't looking good.
