100 Pond Bay on virgin gorda overlooked Savannah beach and was on the market for 6.7M has been sold and torn down as the owner of the property below 100 Pond Bay did not like it so it's gone. Wow

Let me make sure I got that straight. 100 Pond Bay was purchased solely for the purpose of getting rid of it? The seller got something close enough to his asking price of $6.7M to close the deal so must have been in the millions.
Some people's economies run on an extra trailing zero or two compared to mine. Which is fine - I have no problem with that. But I do marvel at it.

Getting rid of any potential neighbor who can see everything they do (especially now with no foliage) or just really hating on the architect? lol

I rather liked the architecture of 100 Pond Bay but if the guy that bought it owns that euro-mid century modern place below it I can see his point.

Wow This is gone? 100 Pond Bay Video It was there last June. Odd that the resort's website is still up and operating.

Maybe it suffered a lot of damage in the hurricane. It looks like a beautiful place.

WOW! Loved looking at it on the way to Adagio Villa! (except for the steep drive way!) Sorry it is gone. The House in front is lovely. Remember trying to figure out what was in the pool as we gazed from Savannah Bay. Looked like a HUGE Swan!!!

So, what is the rest of the story? What does the property look like today? Who owns the property below it? What is the condition of the property below after hurricanes? Who knows the rest of the story? Inquiring minds would like to know, don't you know!
JPH I spent my money on booze, broads, and boats...the rest I wasted.

The home got taken down during the summer of 2017 - it was virtually gone when we were there in August - just the kitchen remains - there is a helicopter pad there now.

I wonder if the folks down the hill got tired of the shenanigans by renters and really needed a helicopter pad. Two birds with one 6 million dollars cheque.

Nice if the old owners would take down the web site for the villa!

Currently anchored off the beach and looking up at the foundation. In late November I saw a backhoe removing debris and thought it was from storm damage though at the time I thought it amazing that sturdy structure had taken that type of damage.
Thanks for the backstory.
The large modern white home below it looks to had most of its storm shutters and large picture windows blown out. They are still covered with large tarps.

They probably have the same problem as us - the manufacturers in Florida are inundated with door and/or window orders - things inside are fine but try to find a replacement sliding or folding door.
