As many of you know Rock N Roll Hall of Famer Steve Cropper is a close friend and played with The Elmtones while staying with us..a night anyone there will remember. Just heard from his wife that he'll be on the CBS Evening News this Thursday (7th) and a longer segment will air on the CBS Morning show on Sat. Steve will talk about writing, producing and playing on on " Dock of the Bay" with Otis and about his string of other hits that created the Memphis sound along with his original band Booker T and the MG's. As orginal " SoulMan" Sam Moore hollered " Play it Steve"! ( Belushi did the same when Steve backed him in the "Blues Brothers Movie"). BTW he still plays with " Blues Brothers Band"..joins forces with Booker and even did a year with Buffett as a Coral Reefer..

Remember that night at The Elm very fondly. The very best night of many great nights there. My favourite tee shirt still has Steve's autograph and also the autograph you gave me... a massive red wine stain
Hope things are working out for you on island and CRC is back up and running soon
