Hey All, We have always travelled to SXM during the summer months, but this year decided to go over NYE. We cancelled those plans after hurricane Irma. I am going back and forth on whether or not to try going in June or July, or opt for another destination. Just curious what the other summer SXM visitors are planning to do this next summer. Thoughts?
TIA

We would be going in July.....just not sure if that would be too early. I'm guessing that the majority of cleanup would be done, with a lot of ongoing construction. Our typical day a quick breakfast, hit the beach all day, grab some dinner, and maybe hit a casino or piano bar. Any guesses as to what OB will be like next summer?

We are heading down for 3 weeks in late April to mid-May. I was in touch with our realtor, Magali, and she encouraged us to come. I'm sure the money we spend will be welcomed. Not sure if the place we have rented will be OK, but she will find somewhere for us to stay. We found out yesterday that our favorite restaurant, Le Piment, will be open. As long as we have access to a grocery store and can find an umbrella and two chairs, we will be fine. I know the the island will be in disarray, but we are determined to spend our money on our favorite island in hopes it may help them. Better than go elsewhere with our money and not be of assistance to SXM.

We're planning on a summer visit too, just not sure exactly when yet.

We plan to go back in July. If Le Piment is the only restaurant open in the village, I can eat there for two weeks straight, no problem! I may miss the grilled fish sandwich at Chez Leandra for lunch, which may be my favorite meal on the whole island, but we'll make do!

We usually stay four Weeks at the Flamingo. Since they are closed through 2018 We rented a villa for 3 weeks. AA changed our air for no fees even though the going rate was more than we paid and returning on a Saturday instead of a Friday. Going in May.

We plan on returning to Orient Village next July. Hoping the villa where we stayed last summer is ready. If not we'll find another option.
