Do you need electricity? I’m not sure Leverick has it yet. Or telephone. Maybe send them an e-mail. The North Sound was badly hit, so no Bitter End, Saba, Costa Smeralda - as far as I know.

Electricity is coming over the mountain right now. The want to bring power to South Sound, so they can power up the water plant for North Sound

Sorry if already posted but...
Is any recovery work being done on Saba Rock or Bitter End?

keep a close eye on Leverick Bay though, from what I have seen they have or expect to have functioning rooms very soon, I would say certainly by Jan. The restaurant, store and spa are already running.

There is an email contact at Leverick here and a message stating there are accomodations: from Facebook "Leverick Bay Resort & Marina in North Sound, Virgin Gorda is OPEN! Our Cove Restaurant serves lunch & dinner daily from 11 am - 8 pm. The Chef's Pantry & Spa is also open daily. Our dock is open & we are hoping to have fuel, water & ice asap. Hotels & Condo's are available for rent. We look forward to seeing everyone. Should you have any questions contact Rebecca at reblewis1979@gmail.com " https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...eater&ifg=1

I thought I saw that Bitter End would be rebuilding - I think I even saw them state they'd be open sometime mid to late next year. Clearly the damage they took would take 6 months to a year or more to get back to where they were though. After I posted, I checked their page.. They'll be back. http://beyc.com/

That's two vastly different stories. Have any of you heard from reputable sources that BEYC won't be opening? That's the first I've read about it.
What about Saba?

Thanks, Laura -- I think I was thinking of just peeps who are used to emailing Nick and Monz directly -- I think now one of the biggest problems are the flights! I keep reading stories of flights booked that have been canceled within a week of booking or completely changed to something not realistically manageable.
Jet Blue has already changed our JUNE flight into SJU!

Regarding The Bitter End, their website says that they are "temporarily closed." That's all. No indication whatsoever of when they might reopen, what sort of rebuilding might be done, or anything else. Just the word "temporarily" to indicate that they hope to reopen someday.
On the other hand, the property is quite valuable. Whether it is the current owners, or someone else, eventually, SOMEONE is going to do SOMETHING with it! That's inevitable. Whether that "something" will be anything like the old Bitter End, or even use the name Bitter End... Only time will tell.

Leverick Bay is open and has condos and hotel rooms available. They have a running generator and water and have had for the majority of the time since the Hurricanes according to my friends there, and so have power, think internet has just been restored as I received an email from Monica a few days ago. They did am amazing job cleaning up the resort super fast and the restaurant downstairs is open for lunch and dinner and they are also severing Thanksgiving dinner too !! You can contact them : Melissa vgvrbvi@gmail.com or Rebecca reblewis1979@gmail.comMichael Beans is returning in Dec for his Pirate show and I believe the Jumbies too. Arawak is reopen, Dive BVI has relocated to the valley, BVI Snuba / Bradley / Powerboats/ Blue Rush will reopen beg of Dec. So loads to do and be entertained by,wined and dined at Leverick bay !

Bitter End will reopen but not until 2019 that is the plan, they have already have a supplier lined up to bring in the materials needed.

That is going to be a monumental job. BEYC was close to 100% demolished and there are more than 70 individual structures.
