I saw the concept of legalized pot being mentioned as a SERIOUS proposal somewhere else. As many crime problems as SXM has, a REALLY stupid idea.

Making pot legal reduces crime everywhere they do so. You are literally taking proceeds of crime away from criminals and instead making pot a taxable commodity. Stop paying criminal to do criminal stuff and they go away - or perish the thought - get jobs.

Massachusetts consistently tries to at worst match, but preferably out-California California. Pot will shortly be legal in CA too.
